Effective Behavior Intervention for Children and Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other Developmental Disabilities

The science behind Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) has changed how professionals are able to help children. This made us at BC Behavioral eager to cultivate our own practice, one that would effectively intersect our expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) with our respective interests in helping improve the lives of families. We believe that what makes therapy effective and what makes a creative business thrive is the passion that drives it. BC Behavioral started in 2017 offering services and providing school consultations to families in public schools across the state of Oklahoma utilizing ABA. We continue to remain passionate about advocating for families.

Currently, BC Behavioral has expanded their services to provide highly individualized ABA programs for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders ranging from 5 years to 17 years+ throughout the OKC Metro area. Our programs are carried out in the child’s everyday, natural environment, such as, home, school, community, and special events. Our goal is to reduce behavioral problems and skill deficits associated with Autism Spectrum Disorders, while increasing independence, daily living, functional, social, and communicative skills.

Our ABA programs utilize multiple, scientifically validated ABA methodologies and proven ABA techniques, which are integrated seamlessly into a comprehensive, natural environment based ABA program. We seek to improve the quality of life of our clients and their families while emphasizing on the generalization of skills. Each client is assigned a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who completes functional assessments, develops comprehensive treatment program, and provides ongoing supervision and oversight of each case.

 What Is ABA?

ABA is the science in which tactics derived from the principles of behavior are applied systematically to improve socially significant behavior and experimentation is used to identify the variables responsible for behavior change.  –Cooper, Heron, Heward, 2007

Behavior Change Tactics

A method of changing behavior derived from one or more of the principles of behavior such as response cost, chaining, shaping, backward chaining, differential reinforcement, and token economy.

Positive Results

ABA methods are used to support persons with autism by: Increasing desirable behaviors, teaching new skills, maintaining current behaviors, generalize or to transfer behavior from one situation or response to another, and reduce interfering behaviors.
